Little Jil Sander Girl

 

I've been working on a set of cartoon-ish looking girls this month. All up I've done three. I may do another next month. Yeah these are fun. I drew in a piece of cake because for the last 2 days I've been eating a lot of carrot cake. I made it just for the hell of it and I baked a little too much. I had to give some away yesterday!

This has been done in watercolour and illustrator.

Fake Tattoo

A while ago a company called Fake Tattoo send me a few fake tattoos to try out. I'm not a huge fan of tattoos because my dad drilled into my head at an early age to never ever get a tatt or he would cut it off my body. And I don't think he was lying either. Anyway because I would never get a REAL tattoo I think fakies are the way to go. I mean I can't handle it when I have ink on my hands! With fakes you could have a different tatt each week if you wanted. So I tried out a huge gun tatt and put it on my forearm for fun. It lasted a good 5 days until I washed it off in the shower under hot hot water.

Rodarte Girl with a ginger kitty cat

This started out as a simple pencil drawing but I decided to pretty it up with some watercolours and illustrator lines. I’ve been stuck in bed since Saturday night with a sore sore varicose vein (its in my left calf) and I started drawing some cartoonish looking girls. I feel like an old woman with this painful vein. What 29 year old has a varicose vein anyway? I’ve never been pregnant, overweight or whatever so what the hell is going on crazy leg? Ok I’ll leave my rant there for now. I really liked this collection by Rodarte, except for the desert designed dresses. I’m Australian and still I can’t get into that…on dresses. Everything else was really nice and wearable.

Carl Warner, Foodscapes

I had to share these foodscapes today! I remember seeing these images a while ago and yes I became obsessed. They're done by a guy called Carl Warner. The best food styling I've seen in my life. Dayum I am hungry. The video below shows his process of styling the food into foodscapes.

Underwear prototype

I will get around to making these one of these days. I wrote a few posts ago that I should buy a sewing machine and get some work printed onto fabric, but its such a big commitment and I gots no money for a new project. Maybe I will start a kickstarter...maybe. Anyway here above we have a rose bra and piggy underpants.

Sketchbook

This week I've been using good ol pencil and paper. Taking a break from my tablet. Sometimes I feel like a robot using that, even though I do appreciate illustrator for its fine fine lines and all, its good to get back to basics. These are just some rough sketches. Maybe I'll draw more. Maybe I will!
